SWORD UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD

SWORD UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD

The Word of God tells us to ARMOR UP- Ephesians 6:10-20. And we should ARMOR UP EVERYDAY. So let’s do it now!

As Paul encouraged the believers in Ephesus to do… we need to understand how we fight and who we are fighting.

Ephesians 6:10- 20

  • WHOSE STRENGTH DO WE FIGHT IN?
“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strengthPut on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.

  • WHERE DO WE FIGHT?

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.

  • WHAT DO WE NEED TO FIGHT?

For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit  — which is the word of God.

  • HOW DO WE FIGHT?

Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request,

  • WHAT DO WE ASK FOR?
and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough to speak about it as I should.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭20‬ ‭CSB‬‬

The last piece of the ARMOR OF GOD is the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which the Bible says, “…IS THE WORD OF GOD.” It’s our WEAPON!!!

We need to make sure we have our Weapon of Warfare - the Word of God Ready at all times

So we encourage you to MEMORIZE the BELOW SCRIPTURES. You can memorize one scripture a week. As you are reading the verse, pray through the Word. Ask our Lord Jesus for:

  1. Understanding
  2. Revelation
  3. Application (how it applies to you and others)
  4. Help me live Your Word everyday

Let’s Begin to SWORD UP!!!

1 Thessalonians 5:11*

Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

*Romans 14:19*

So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

*Hebrews 3:13*

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

*Jude 1:20*

But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

*Ephesians 4:12*

for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;

*Ephesians 4:29*

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

*2 Corinthians 13:11*

Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

*Ephesians 4:16*

from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

*Hebrews 10:24*

and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

*1 Thessalonians 5:1-10*

“Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.”
‭‭

*1 Corinthians 14:26*

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

*1 Corinthians 14:12*

So also you, since you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound for the edification of the church.

*Ephesians 4:15*

but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ…
